REVIEW: Breathing With Bryan Method
Incorrect breathing is the number 1 cause of death and disease in United States and in Western society, yes that’s right, you read it correctly. It’s not our diet, nor our lifestyle, but breathing.
It makes sense if you think about it, breathing is something we do unconsciously every second of our lives. However, most of us are breathing the wrong way, too fast and too much, leading to a low level of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the body and a range of health problems.
What is the solution then? You simply need to correct your breathing pattern and recode it to be able to breathe less, and slower through the nose.
This is exactly what the Breathing with Bryan method will teach you, here is my review after 28 days of practice.
Who’s the man behind the Breathing with Bryan Method?
Bryan Mirabella is a former professional athlete in wrestling and a powerlifter. All his life he was breathing the wrong way, shallow, fast, and with his mouth open. After many years of training and competition, Bryan started to have multiple health problems.
He had a deviated septum, a torn biceps tendon, two herniated discs, and many soft tissue injuries. He started to go every week to the chiropractor and the acupuncturist, who told him that guys like you tend to have a heart attack in their sixties and die. That was a solid uppercut in the face.
Since he was working in the fitness industry, he went to a seminar and when the first speaker stepped up and started talking about breathing, Bryan asked himself, what the heck is that, I came here for a fitness seminar? But, it seemed like the speaker was describing him directly as if it was a dedicated one-to-one session. Bryan started to learn about breathing and became a restorative breathing instructor and an oxygen advantage coach. He has trained a few Olympic athletes and CEOs.
On his healing journey, he also switched from a classic diet to a plant-based diet then a few years later after watching Dr. Morse’s channel, he switched to a mucus-free lifestyle, which is essentially fruitarian. Over the years, he almost fully recovered from all of his problems thanks to breathing practice and a healthier lifestyle.
What is the Breathing with Bryan Method?
The breathing with Bryan method is a 30 days video-based course that teaches you the basics of breathing, how to normalize your blood chemistry, and how to breathe for the rest of your life.
Bryan’s method is based on the works of Dr. Buteyko. If you want to know more about it, you can read this article I wrote about, how breathing slower will reverse aging.
The videos are short and easy to understand. Bryan is giving you breathing exercises every day and a bit of information about how breathing influences our body and health.
The breathing exercises are guided by Bryan, you can just follow his voice.
Top Benefits of the Breathing with Bryan Method
when you start practicing every day, you will make big changes in your life. Here is a list of some of the benefits and what you’ll learn with Bryan’s method.
- How you should be breathing every day for the rest of your life.
- How to manage stress and emotional behaviors through the breath
- How to improve your Heart Rate Variability
- How to increase your energy level
- How to stimulate your kidneys
- How to get a restful night’s sleep
- How to normalize your blood chemistry (PH neutral)
- How to improve Nitric Oxide in the body
After the 30 days you will know how you should be breathing for the rest of your life, Bryan explains the ins and outs of breathing and why you should always be breathing slow, deep through the diaphragm and of course through the nose. You’ll have to continue practicing because it takes time to have a sustainable change in your breathing pattern.
When you breathe like most of us do, too fast, you’re living your life in fight-or-flight mode, which is the stress response, so you become more reactive to your surrounding. Everything can be stressful and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. You’re on an emotional roller coaster. By learning how to breathe slower and through the nose, you’ll sway stress away. Suddenly, you are calm and can tackle any situation that comes to you. You become present.
“Breathing in, there is only the present moment. Breathing out, it is a wonderful moment.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
Heart rate variability is the measure of the variation in time between each heartbeat. It is controlled by our autonomic nervous system, which is subdivided into 2 parts, the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, aka the flight-or-fight mode. To make it simple, by improving your heart rate variability, you can improve your general well being, activate relaxation and the digestive system. People with higher variability of heart rate are healthier and more resilient, both physically and emotionally.
When you slow down your heartbeat, your heart is less tired, so you feel more energized. The Breath with Bryan method is designed to train you to breathe slower and to increase your carbon dioxide threshold. When you do that, you’re taping into hemoglobin that will release oxygen and delay fatigue.
The kidneys are the waste cleaner, it is a vital organ because it helps the body to remove waste. By breathing the correct way, you will improve and stimulate kidney function. Since we live in a very toxic society and environment, it is important to be able to detoxify your body. Breathing, combined with the kidneys, is the most powerful tool to detoxify.
There is no debate about why having a restful sleeping night is vital for your longevity. Unfortunately, many people sleep with an open mouth. That causes to feel tired in the morning, emotionally unstable, and anxious. So tap your mouth with some sleep strips tape and sleep better.
No disease can thrive in PH neutral environment. Having a proper and clean diet is important and contribute to having a better PH, but it is not enough to reach a neutral status. Breathing is the only way to normalize blood chemistry. Nobody talks about that because breathing is FREE. It takes more or less a year to normalize your blood chemistry.
Nitric Oxide is a miracle molecule, it is produced by the paranasal sinuses and our blood vessels. NO has been shown to act as a signaling molecule, causing the walls of arteries, lymph vessels, and veins to relax stimulating vasodilation, broncho-dilation, and lymph flow, allowing an open airway, lowering heart rate and blood pressure, and waste removal while restoring balance to the autonomic nervous system.
Best Features of The Breathing With Bryan Method
You get access to the course for a lifetime, it is segmented in different parts but there are two main features that make the course interesting.
Breathing Protocols
Bryan designed the course so you can build up step by step your ability to breathe slower and better. Many unique exercises target specific goals like unblocking the nose, increasing carbon dioxide in the body, retraining our nervous system to adopt a better breathing pattern, developing diaphragm breathing, or calming down and relaxing from stress and anxiety.
All of those exercises will then create a breathing protocol that you can add to your daily routine.
The gentle practice is a soft protocol design to slowly increase carbon dioxide in the body. Simple and easy exercises for people who are not familiar or lost their ability to nose breathe. It gives a relax feeling afterward which is great after a day at the office. you can perform that protocol in 15min.
The workout protocol is the main protocol and the most efficient to strengthen your diaphragm and increase CO2 in the body. You will notice better overall performances with this protocol. It’s great to practice before going to the gym, or any physical activity. It can be done in less than 25 min.
The long haul protocol is the extended version and combined all exercises in one series. I would advise doing it at least one time a week. You need 45min to one hour to complete the set.
Community Support
The best part for me is the support you get from Bryan and the community he created with all the breathers.
every week there is a zoom call with Bryan and the students, you can ask all the questions you want and get support both from Bryan and also from other students. the zoom call continues after the 30 days course and you can attend as long as Bryan continues to make those calls.
There is also a Telegram group where you can post about your breathing progress and problems, Bryan is very active on it and answers all the questions.
In today’s society, I value human support and connexion more than anything else. The fact that Bryan is available for everyone attending the course is great and shows how much he cares about people.
What’s the Price of The Breathing with Bryan Method?
Bryan offers a 7-day free trial, which is enough to have a good overview of what you get and how it works. After the trial, you have two payments of 97 dollars. The total cost of the course is 198 dollars.

My Personal Experience using the Breathing with Bryan Method
I discovered Bryan’s teaching through a friend and I immediately resonated with his message and energy. However, since this “done on purpose” crazy economical inflation started, I always ask one question before spending money. Do I need this in my life right now?
The answer came fast, I resonate with the message and intuitively felt that I needed this to get better in my life. Now it’s been more than 28 days since I started my journey into breathing. At the same time, I got 2 conditions that showed up in my life, some lung allergies (before buying the course) and some personal emotional issues. That’s funny how life is throwing what you need when you need it, because the breathing with Bryan method is helping my lungs to feel better, and sadness is linked to the lung as well.
The first noticeable difference is that I started to sleep better (and my sleep was not bad), and the second one was that I started to have a runny nose and needed to blow regularly. Bryan told me that, it’s a cleansing process and it’s good and normal in the beginning.
I also realized how much I was breathing through my mouth and how much my diaphragm felt atrophied. My results were not great after 2 weeks because of the pain I had in my lung. I did everything I could to find the root of the allergies I had lately and after resolving the problem I started to feel more comfortable doing the exercises. You need to practice a lot and be constant to feel the benefits, especially when you have a wrong breathing mechanism like mine, consistency is not always my strongest skill so I did slip a little off the practice, but I refocused after a week and now I’m doing it 2 times a day, one time the workout and one time the gentle practice. In just a few days, I started to feel my diaphragm moving better like something is releasing. I feel great at the moment, with a sense of calmness and presence.
I met a friend today in the street that I haven’t seen for a while, and she told me, I feel like you’re well in your body. I guess, it shows how much the breathing with Bryan method is doing good. I will continue to practice for a long time.
Conclusion : Should you buy Breathing with Bryan Method?
The breathing with Bryan method is one of the best investments you can make in your life. That’s no light words, what’s more important than breathing? It’s the key to a peaceful and joyful life. It’s also the key to a healthy life, who doesn’t want to be healthy for the rest of his life?
What you get in the course is for life. There are others options on the market, like the infamous Wim Hof’s method or the Holotropic breathing method, but none of them teach you how to breathe slower. I don’t believe that Buddha was using hyperventilation to reach enlightenment, I think it’s quite obvious that the slower you breathe, the healthier you become. The more enlighted you are.
Become a Buddha and start taking control of your life today.
